About the Belly Tanker
Belly Tankers originated when surplus aircraft fuel tanks were converted into lightweight, aerodynamic race cars after World War II. Their streamlined shape made them especially suitable for dry lake and salt-flat speed racing, eventually becoming an iconic part of American hot rod and land speed culture.
